This evening, consider dining at Bocanariz Wine Bar, found a short walk away from your hotel. Located in the heart of the trendy Lastarria district, this elegant resto-bar is not a destination for only a meal, but also for exceptional Chilean wine experiences. Unlike traditional restaurants, Bocanariz boasts a menu elaborately designed for its food to complement the wine, and not the other way around. With over 200 varietals on-hand and a wait staff comprised fully of trained sommeliers, your taste buds will be dancing by the end of the evening. Many can be sampled by the glass, or you can try a themed flight and see if your palate can tease out delicate notes such as smoky, spiced, citrus, herbed or sweet.

Lace Up for Some Fresh Air
Join a small group of fellow adventurers in a guided half-day hike through your scenic surrounds. Take a leisurely tour through Tierra's own backyard, exploring the beautiful outer edges of the Torres del Paine National Park, close to the border between Argentina and Chile. For a moderate-easy hiking option, journey along the Hunter's Trail and witness remnants of the indigenous Aonikenk culture. Marvel at sightings of wildlife, including guanacos, foxes and maybe a soaring Andean condor. Opt to discover ancient geological formations at Lake Sarmiento, offering a varied walk over both flat and slightly steeper terrain before you reach the shores. Lake Sarmiento is the home of formations called thrombolites, which were formed early on in the history of the world’s geology.
The Torres del Paine Massif’s silhouette serves as a backdrop the Uma Spa at Tierra Patagonia. For pure bliss, visit the outdoor hot tub, or opt to make the invigorating switch between the steam room and indoor pool. Encased in tall glass walls, you’ll feel effortlessly connected to Patagonia all the while enjoying the spa and wellness facilities. Enter a zen-like state in the treatment rooms, with aromatherapy oils, peaceful sounds and soft lighting. Tierra's wellness space, which includes a yoga studio and separate relaxation rooms for men and women, is clad in warm, locally sourced wood and stone, while treatments and therapies use all-natural ingredients. Take your pick from an extensive list of facials, massages, body wraps, scrubs and alternative therapies, designed to open up your ‘prana’, or ‘life force’. Please note: Your treatment is not included and will be paid for on location. Reservations are confirmed at the time of booking and are subject to availability.

Kayaking the Wilderness
Navigate the serene glacial waters of Lake Grey in a guided kayaking excursion. The first part of the day is spent on the lake, among giant ice pieces which have broken off the main glacier and landed at the far end of the lake. In the afternoon, conditions permitting, you'll take your kayak down the river towards the Serrano area. Observe how sunlight pierces the ice blocks and the color changes from deep blue to a sparkling mass. In the distance, you'll hear the crack and heave of the famed Grey Glacier.

Breathe the Mountain Air
Spend a full day trekking through an incredible remote wilderness. Those seeking a moderate adventure can immerse themselves in the beauty of the Grey Peninsula. Hike through a beautiful lenga forest and cross the Pingo River on a hanging bridge before making the descent to Lake Grey and trekking along the pebble shore. For a more strenuous challenge, take the path less traveled along the Paso de Agostini, a little known trail situated away from the crowds, boasting the iconic Paine Massif as its backdrop. This journey takes you to a viewpoint to see the largest lake in the area, Lago del Toro, as well as the winding Paine River and the imposing mountains across the horizon of stunning Patagonia. For the ultimate hiking challenge, the path to the base of the Three Towers is legendary for being one of the world’s great “bucket list” hikes. The effort of this severe ascent is rewarded by the view of the iconic magnificence of the Towers (after which Torres del Paine is named) at the top. Take the time to appreciate both the isolation and grandeur of these mountains, a site which evokes its own sense of perspective.
