Visit the various Markets of Dakar: Kermel, Sandaga, and the handicraft market of Soumbedioune. You will also go through Tilen market famous for its medicinal herbs and its traditional healers. Visit the Great Mosque, stop at the president’s palace and the parliament house. You will stop at Cheick Anta Diop University to visit the picturesque district of Medina and the residential district of Fann. Just twenty minutes from Dakar Port, the ferryboat will arrive at Goree. Goree Island carries the heavy burden of 300 years slave trading in West Africa. The island ranks today among the classified monuments of the World Patrimony. You will visit the Slave-House and will listen to a lecture delivered by the curator. You will also visit the auction block, the ethnographic Museum, the fort and interact with the inhabitants.

Cultural Immersion
Visit the old town of Rufisque with its small, narrow streets surrounded by two story houses with black - Smith balconies. Visit different villages and farms, meet various ethnic groups. Stop to see a herd of long horned West African cattle being tended by the semi-nomadic Peulh herdsmen. You will visit the town of Thies with its huge market rich of African fabrics and medicinal herbs. Also visit the Art Tapestries Manufactory famous all around the world. Next we will enjoy a nice meal in one of the beach restaurant in the Saly resort area. Afternoon free for swimming. While returning to Dakar, visit of other villages.

Enjoy a visit to Lake Retba, a rare natural phenomenon renowned for its formerly characteristic pink color, a result of the Dunaliella salina algae in the water. These algae produce a red pigment that absorbs light for energy, creating a mirror-like sparkle amid the dunes. The lake is also renowned for its remarkably high salt content. As you visit, you'll encounter the "salt harvesters," who use colorful tools and have the opportunity to engage with the Fulani ethnic groups residing in the nearby villages. You will then have lunch in a typical restaurant and after proceed to the fishermen village of Cayar where you will attend the colorful arrival of the big game fishing parties.
