Niagara on the Lake is a special place steeped in history, that showcases the colonial British influence in the area. Architecturally interesting, with many quaint shops and galleries, it demands relaxation and a slower pace. Only a 1.5hr drive from Toronto, the area is spoilt by its location, nestled between Lake Ontario and the UNESCO World Heritage Niagara escarpment - Canada's Napa valley. Day 1
Toronto - Niagara-on-the-Lake
Enjoy a private transfer door to door from your hotel in Toronto to your hotel in Niagara on the Lake in a luxury vehicle with a professional driver. Enjoy lunch at leisure (not included in tour price). Enjoy a shared afternoon excursion (6 hrs) discovering the renowned Niagara escarpment to explore the wines of the area as well as the quaint town of Niagara-on-the-Lake in the company of a professional tour guide before sitting down to a gourmet dinner. After your hotel pick up, you will get to visit four Niagara wineries with an extensive tour at Jackson-Triggs Estate Winery and tastings at all four. You will also experience a full sample of Niagara's "world renowned" Icewine. Some of the wineries that may be visited include Reif Estates, Caroline Cellars, Pillitteri Estates, Marynissen, Hillebrand, Peller Estates, Palatine Hills, Rancourt Winery, Riverview Cellars, Konzelmann Estates, and Strewn Winery. Throughout the tour, you will be given some interesting and informative facts about the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and the rich history of the surrounding areas as well as the ever-expanding wine region. Then enjoy a fresh picnic-style dinner at the well-known, local favourite "The Epicurean Restaurant" located in the heart of "Olde Towne" Niagara-on-the-Lake. The restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating with white linen and candlelight and has an amazing menu with wonderful food and impeccable service. Your dinner can include a bottle of wine that you chose during your wine tour that you have taken earlier in the day or a glass of wine each selected from the Epicurean’s wine list!. Fully sated, you will be brought back to your hotel. Enjoy dinner (included in tour price). The Pillar and Post (5*) is located in a quiet residential area, surrounded by a wonder of gardens and only a five minute walk from Niagara-on-the-Lake’s main street. Originally built in the late 1800’s as a canning factory in the midst of Niagara’s wine and fruit region. Enjoy a private tour to see the majestic Niagara Falls. After being picked up at your hotel, your driver/guide will transport you to Niagara Falls, about 25 minutes away along a scenic road which links the two towns. Upon arrival at the Falls, you will get to experience the sheer power of the falls as you take a boatride - the "Maid of the Mist" which cruises on the water close to the falls and upriver. Discover the story behind the Falls on the "Journey Behind the Falls" as well as the White Water Walk, & Butterfly Conservatory before being brought back to your hotel. (includes ticket for maid of the mist and Journey behind the Falls). If you would like to spend moe time in Niagara Falls this can be arranged. Niagara-on-the-Lake is a quaint and beautiful little town in on the shore of Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Niagara River. The town accentuates its British heritage, and features the only Lord Mayor in Canada. Its preserved turn of the century architecture make it a delightful walk around. The mild climate and excellent soil have turned the surrounding region into the wine capital of of the country. Visitors flock to dozens of nearby wineries, including those making the world's largest volumes of ice wine. The town is also known for its gardens, art galleries, antique shops, and golf courses.

There are any number of great activities to choose from during your stay in the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Enjoy a round of golf at North America’s oldest golf course. See living history at Fort George or learn about the past at the Historical Museum. Speed up the river on the Whirlpool Jet Boat or enjoy a bird’s-eye view from aboard a helicopter. Check out the many shops and galleries in the town centre. Rent a bike and avail of the bike trails or join a guided bike tour of the wineries. Enjoy a lantern-lit ghost walk of Niagara-on-the-Lake and stroll back through history to hear tales of haunted pubs, inns, forts and homes where restless spirits of the past are still said to linger. Explore the area on horseback if this appeals, or relax on the San Francisco-style trolley as it takes you out in to the countryside.   • Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
  • The price shown is per person, and does not include international air fare to/from the trip start point
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes. We will endeavour to confirm final hotel bookings as soon as possible.
  • Cancellations 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund less any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
