Starting off in Cape Town, explore, with your private guide, this stunning city and surrounding areas including the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point, Simon's Town and penguins at Boulders Beach. Nestled between Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean and famous for its beaches, this is a cosmopolitan city with superb cuisine and world class vineyards only an hour's drive away. You'll fly from here to Nelspruit then take a charter plane to Singita Lebombo. Hidden in the Lebombo Mountains on the eastern side of the Kruger National Park, the reserve boasts some of the best views in southern Africa, be they perched over the magnificent N’wanetsi River Gorge or on the expanses of the basalt plains below. These diverse habitats house an even more fascinating array of wildlife. This is lion country, and the formidable lion prides here are some of the biggest in the world. They provide endless hours of interest as they stalk, hunt, feed, sleep, patrol territories, mate and raise their playful cubs. You'll fly direct from here back to Johannesburg. Ellerman House & Villa is situated in the prestigious suburb of Bantry Bay in Cape Town, with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean and a mere 10 minute drive to the V&A Waterfront. Day 1 Cape Town

Cape Town is the second most populous city in South Africa, famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Popular day activities include; Robben Island (Nelson Mandela's prison), Cape Point, Stellenbosch winery tour, diamond buying shops, and great white shark diving.

Upon arrival into South Africa you will be met at the door of the plane and escorted through Customs and Immigration avoiding any queues. You will also receive all of your necessary documents for your trip which contains a detailed personalized itinerary, maps, restaurant suggestions, top tips for exploring each city or region and a 24 hour concierge service (for restaurant reservations, spa treatments, child minders, day tours etc.)

Day 2 Cape Town

Depart at from your hotel and travel to the Company Gardens in Cape Town. Enjoy a walk from the Gardens to the Cape Gallery. Here you will find some of the oldest and prestigious galleries, antique shops and auction houses in Cape Town. Central to the tradition of South African painting is the abiding love of the land Return to the Company Gardens for a visit to the South African National Gallery. It houses outstanding collections of South African, British, French, Dutch and Flemish art. Regular exhibitions enable the museum to have a full program of temporary exhibitions of paintings, works on paper, photography, sculpture, beadwork, textiles and architecture that provide insight into the extraordinary range of aesthetic production in this country, the African continent and further afield.

Continue then to the village of Muizenberg and visit Casa Labia. Built in 1929 to reflect the spirit of 18th century Venice, Casa Labia is the former Muizenberg residence of Count and Countess Natale Labia where you can explore and have time for your own lunch. Continue to the quaint seaside village of Kalk Baywhere the pace is a little slower with its quirky shops, antiques, crafts and art. Traditional fishing vessels still return with the ‘catch of the day’ and line the little port, while surfers enjoy surfing one of the best reefs in Cape Town. Visit the Kalk Bay Gallery which is reputed to be one of the most comprehensive selection of contemporary, original South African art.

Day 3 Cape Town

Today we embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. We take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here we drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as well as have spectacular views over False Bay. We enjoy lunch near here (not included – own account) before continuing to Simonstown, the naval base, and visiting the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. En route back we stop at the world renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before returning back to your hotel.

Day 4 Cape Town

You will be met this morning by your guide and set off for the Winelands, a delightful drive which winds its way through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Our first stop is Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, with canal lined avenues, and magnificent examples of Cape Dutch architecture where we enjoy our first wine tasting, coupled with a chocolate and dessert tasting. Onward over the scenic Helshoogte Pass, to Franschhoek, founded by French Huguenots over 350 years ago, and widely regarded as the culinary capital of South Africa. Its beautiful setting and café lined streets will charm you and a further wine tasting is included at one of the renowned estates here. Our final stop is at the town of Paarl, at the foot of a cluster of remarkable granite domes where we enjoy our final wine tasting before heading back to Cape Town.

Kruger National Park was established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, and is nearly 2 million hectares. It is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park.

  • Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
  • Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
