We had a personal guide in south africa, and after greece and turkey, that is the only way to see the next "cities in the world." Africa - "We had a wonderful trip. Everything was better than promised. From the pick up at the airport, hotels, guide, tours. We were very pleased with the service and professionalism showed by everyone associated with Kensington. Our trip was such a success thanks to our safari guide, Fideles. He took excellent care of us and our 80 something mother. We saw alot more wildlife than most other visitors with other tour groups. His driving skills were amazing along with his knowledge of the wildlife. The only recommendation for improvement I would have is not offering the Breezes hotel in Zanzibar for 2 daughters and their mother. It was clearly a couples resort. Lovely as it was, it was too remote, over 1 hour into the city. We had lunch at the Serena and that would have been an ideal place for us to stay. Also the Zanzibar city tour was OK, but the spice tour was a waste of time. We also did not like the visit to the Masai village. They took our $75 and then took us to their well worn market to buy items. They then told us it was time to leave. We never received a tour of their village or any information. I saw other Kensginton groups going to other villages and maybe they had a better experience, but the one in the Mara clearly was looking for our money and that was all. A special note for the Mara West site. It was simply amazing. The cabins overlooking the Mara was incredible. The staff were so warm and friendly. It felt like coming home each night to family. They even insisted on getting up at 4:30 on the morning of our balloon ride to have coffee and tea for us. This was our first overnight location and it set a high standard for the rest of the trip and we were not disappointed. Thank you Kensington for a wonderful safari and 1500 pictures to remember it all by." Nancy Schafer, 2010

Africa - "They are not bragging when they market their trips as a "trip of a lifetime. " We were travelling with our family of 9 people. Two were children two years old and six years. If your children can make it on the long flights, they will do great on the African safari in Tanzania and Kenya. Kensington had everything arranged to accomodate our family. We will never again book a tour that we would not be in charge of the itinerary every step of the way. With, them, it is so personal. The animals were amazing along with the African people. Africa - "We had the best guide in Morocco - he knew everything and everyone - we even got a private tour of the mosque in Casablanca (how many people can say that). Our tenting experience was really private. We were the only ones there with a cook and two hosts. Staying in the Medinas was great as we experienced Moroccan life and the Riad's were awesome. Europe - "Thanks to Matthew everything was just as he stated. He was very patient with all my questions during the two years we worked on this trip. We were booked and my husband had heart surgery and we had to postpone the trip for almost a year. Matthew was always there to take care of the needs. All meet and greets were perfect, the guides were more than excellent, for the countries we were in the hotels were all nice, some more than others, but they were so clean and the staff was always very helpful and we were always very happy with the accommodations. When we had to leave early for flights the hotels were sure we had something to eat before we left, or a sack full of goodies. Our overall experience was wonderful, we walked our legs off, but were so grateful for the great guides that were always proud of their country and very willing to share the history and the up-to-date goings on." Europe - "On your scale of 1 to 5, our trip was 5+++. From the moment we arrived in Moscow, we were met and escorted to our hotel by our guide and driver. The hotel was great and the buffet breakfasts were fantastic. Our guide went above and beyond the call of duty. She was very knowledgeable as well as personable. She suggested places for us to eat dinner as well as things for us to do on our own time. She fulfilled a dream of mine: SHE GOT US TICKETS TO THE BOLSHOI BALLET - 3RD ROW ORCHESTRA! When it was time for us to take the train to St. Petersburg, she escorted us to the terminal and waited until we boarded the train. Every detail of our itinerary was carried out without a hitch. The same holds true of our driver and guide in St. Petersburg. We were met at the train and embarked on our tour immediately. Our hotel was great here too. The drivers in both cities were very pleasant and available as needed. We did not interact with them as they did not speak English. Our guide in St. Petersburg was as knowledgeable and personable as in Moscow. She too made suggestions for us and did a fabulous job of carrying out our itinerary plus other sights. When we were due to leave St. Petersburg, our driver and an assistant took us to the train station. Our experience with Kensington Tours was fantastic from beginning to end. Africa - "What a trip- Gabrielle organized it so well and her last minute tips were so helpful. There were four of us and all on different schedules. Trying to get everyone to agree on what was to happen can be difficult at the best of times. The trip which to us seemed difficult to co-ordinate went off without a hitch and certainly no thanks to us. The guides on Kilimanjaro were unbelieveable. We had been warned about all sorts of issues. Getting sick, cleanliness, lousy food and theft. Well I can say the Food was outstanding, we did not get sick and the guides were like family. And that was only the beginning of our trip. Then we went on Safari- Fideleous (sp)as a guide through the game parks is a must. He knew so much and made suggestions, that I am happy we listened to. We laughed and generally were so relaxed it was like being part of a big family. He made us feel like we had known him a long time. Service at all the hotels was excellent and quite traditional. It was so nice to have such professionals. Finally I cannot say enough about James who greeted us at the airport and was behind the scenes making sure it all ran so smoothly. if something was not quite working the way it should he fixes it or at least does his darndest to do so. Sometimes things happen, especially I think in Africa. Flights do not always run on time, power failures etc and while everyone else fretted- James was on to us to explain exactly what would happen and when. James went way beyond the call of duty. My hat goes off to him. Through it he always has a ready smile. We did not get a chance to thank him properly in the end as he was off to to solve some other issue. I see why Kensington is the recommended Tour company and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone contemplating a trip to Africa. i have one word of advice- try not to do it yourself- they know what they are doing and can make it happen and honestly probably save you money in the end. Europe - "This trip got complicated when AA cancelled our flight and the subsequent flight was delayed by five hours. Helen had to rearrange almost every element of our travels, which included pick-ups, tours, vouchers, an additional hotel etc. She responded rapidly to all our needs and made changes as needed, getting information to us by e-mail, at the hotels and by phone. If it was not for her diligence the trip could have been a disaster. Once we hit the ground in Italy, it was perfect, thanks to her. She is a delight to work with and a real star." Chris Bazos did a super job of arranging the tour & he stayed in constant communication with us, answering all emails and questions within one business day. The only downside was that the Royal Lily, a "luxury" cruise boat did not carry a single malt scotch. The Mena House and the Marriot in Cairo were 5*. South America - "While we have traveled extensively in North America, Hawaii, Mexico and Europe this was our first adventure vacation. It was critical for us to get good information from the very beginning due to the complexities of this trip itinerary. Kensington did not fail us here and provided an excellent and quite detailed pre-trip itinerary of what was soon to come. The tour partners selected by Kensington were all exceptional and every detail was attended to. Every flight arrival/departure was set with great care to allow enough layover time to cover delays, yet not too much so as to leave you stranded in an airport. The complexities of moving in/out of foreign countries (i.e. language/taxes/check-in etc.) were made easy. The hotels/accommodations were all first class, often with meals included. The boats (Galapagos, Coral I) the drivers (Quito, Lima, Cusco) were excellent and the guides themselves (Cusco, Lima, Galapagos, Machu Picchu) were travel savvy and an amazing resource of the history, culture, politics, biology and languages of their countries. Finally, all passes/taxes needed to get in/out of national park sites Machu Picchu/Galapagos were included and if a fee was not included, that information was clearly spelled out in our pre-trip itinerary, so there were no surprises. Egypt & Middle East - "OK, it has been almost a year since our amazing trip to Egypt. I have been meaning to do this for a long time and now that my Father and Mother in law called us today to get Kensington's information from us so they can plan their own trip to Egypt and Isreal, I have been prompted to send in my feedback. I am going to try not to be long winded but I could go on for hours about our trip. I will try to sum up the experiance quickly. First of all, hats off to Tim!!! I have to admit though, at the beginning I was a little reluctant speaking with Tim because he made it sound like it was no big deal to plan this trip of a life time for my wife and I. How could he be so cavelier about making these plans? There was airfare, and going through customs and hotels and river trips and personal guides and ground transportation and lets not forget us not speaking the language. There was VIP treatment and special passes to certain events. There was just no way this could all fall into place as Tim explained. There was also the fact that my wife is a vegatarian and uses a cane to walk with. Did he expect me to believe that the staff on a ship half way around the world is going to have vegatarian meals ready for us when we got there, and that WE would be able to set the pace and decide when and where we wanted to go if my wife was not up to it?......Well, I have three words for you; Done!, Done! and Done! and then some. Put your faith in Tim and the staff at Kensington. You don't need to worry. It could not have been more wonderful. Accomodations were beautiful and our guides were like we hand picked them to fit our personality. Sam, our guide during our Nile cruise went way above and beyond. We could have spent weeks just sitting in those ancient temples, listening to Sam tell us about the culture, and the people and their beliefs. I could go on and on but I will end it here. I can't wait to plan our next trip with Kensington and I am excited to hear. how things go with my in-laws' trip after using Kensington. We have previously traveled with Kensington to Egypt, East Africa and China and have recently come home from South Africa. Egypt & Middle East - "GREAT Trip to Egypt. Kensington did a great job and your in country support (guides etc) did excellent. Let me start with Mohamed Salah Seada . Great job on meeting us, and sending us off in the right direction. He was the overall person in charge and provided us with a great tour and was always available for questions or problems. Did a great job. Tour Guide in the Cairo region: Mohammed M Mekkawy. Can’t say enough good about Mohammed 2 (as he called himself). A professor at Cairo University, he took personal responsibility for insuring that we saw everything, it was explained patiently, and gained an understanding of both ancient Egypt and modern day Egypt.
